Belgrade

Belgrado é a primeira grande cidade que visito. Aqui, todos os barcos têm controlo portuário e todos os passaportes são carimbados à entrada e à saída. Se desejarmos consumir algo em Belgrado, há que trocar dinheiro, porque depois dos Leis da Roménia e os Levs da Bulgária, seguem-se os Dinares Sérvios.

A primeira vez que visitei Belgrado tive a sorte de poder fazer um tour com os meus hóspedes, o que me permitiu saber exactamente o que visitam e porque dificuldades passam. Se Lisboa é a cidade das 7 colinas, Belgrado não fica muito atrás, com uma subida do porto até ao centro de tirar o fôlego a qualquer um. 

A cidade é relativamente grande, mas talvez não maior que Lisboa. As pessoas são simpáticas há bastante gente a falar inglês, o que me deixou surpreendida, comparando com outros países que já visitei para estes lados da Europa. Outra coisa que me surpreendeu também, mas desta vez pela negativa, foi a cidade em si, que parece estar em constante construção. Há andaimes por todo o lado.

Bem sei que este país sofreu muito, tanto na primeira guerra como na segunda, e que teve também uma, não muito antiga, separação com Montenegro, mas não esperava um cenário como o que comprovei na Catedral de São Sava.

A Catedral por fora parece acabada e com características da arquitectura da cidade, mas por dentro é apenas cimento e betão. Pouco trabalhada e somente com um mural, em construção, que consegui fotografar entre as grades.

O forte, esse, está carregado de histórias e marcas da guerra.

No entanto, o saldo é positivo.

Belgrade is the first major city I've visited. Here, all the boats have port control and all passports are stamped when entering and exiting. If we want to shop in Belgrade, is better to change some money, because after the Leu of Romania and Bulgarian Leva, are the Serbian Dinars.

The first time I visited Belgrade, I was able to do a tour with my guests, which allowed me to know exactly what they visit and which difficulties they have during that. If Lisbon is the city of the seven hills, Belgrade is not behind, with a hill from the port to the center, breathtaking to anyone.

The city is relatively large, but no larger than Lisbon. The people are friendly and there are enough people speaking in English, which surprised me, comparing to other countries I've visited in this part of Europe. Another thing that surprised me too, but this time in a negative way, was the city itself, which seems to be in constant construction. There scaffolding everywhere.

I know that this country suffered greatly, both in the first and second war, and also had, a not very old, split with Montenegro, but I did not expect the scenario that I confirmed in the Saint Sava's Cathedral.

The outside of the Cathedral looks finished and architectural features the city, but inside is just cement. Just a little bit worked inside and only with a wall under construction, I could shoot behind bars.

The Fortress, that one, is full of stories and war marks.

However, the balance is positive.
